Fantube enables people worldwide to surprise a fan with a personalized video message from his/her favorite artist and by doing so, to raise awareness and funds for a charity. Each artist can choose the price of a video: free, fixed or online auction and decides which charity he/she wants to support. The fan who receives the video can record a reaction video and sent it back to the artist. From wedding or birthday wishes to motivational videos, everything is possible. Each artist decides the amount of videos, delivery period and which charity he/she supports. The artist can also choose the price of a video (fixed price or online auction) or choose to give away a video for free (via lottery).
Fantube is a Personal Media Platform; we believe in the power of personal media; meaning personalising content which is meant for only one person. People can choose when to consume the content and whether to make it "social" or not, meaning to share the content with the rest of the world or to keep it for themselves.
Fantube is founded by the Dutchman Eugene Hendrikx (28) in March 2017 in Berlin, Germany. Soon after Fantube was founded, Marco Groenendijk (43) joined the team as CTO. Each team member has several years of experience in different professional fields. Marco Groenendijk has a technical background with almost 15 years of experience in building high-end platforms and applications. Eugene Hendrikx has a strong online media background (as former head of talents at Divimove) with almost 5 years of experience in social media and talent management of social influencers.
The idea started in February 2013 when Eugene had a sales meeting with the Dutch DJ Isaac. Eugene’s girlfriend Alina is a big fan of DJ Isaac, so Eugene wanted to surprise Alina with a special gift for Valentines Day. Eugene asked DJ Isaac after the meeting if he would like to make a short video for Alina, he did and this was the result: https://youtu.be/87DrX8r7Kxc. The first reaction of Alina was priceless, she did not expect this at all! At that point the idea was born and it took Eugene 3 years to actually go for it.😊
